    Ezempju klassiku tal-“Generazzjoni rebbieha” tal-PL.

What I find most incredible is the need for Labour to declare that if they are elected businesses will still be safe and the country will be allowed to work.

In any advanced or relatively advanced state, there would be no need to make that statement as it should be a given.

The fact that they felt the need to make the statement speaks volumes.

What I find incredible is the fact that a number of so-called Nationalists are so tragically indifferent to what is happening.

It is now seriously necessary for them to rally behind Gonzi as they did at other times behind Fenech Adami.

‘Safe’ is maintaining a status quo. Labour has no road-map leading us into the future.

Malta does not need a ‘safe’ government. It needs a government with a spine, ready to take calculated risks and to push forward, sometimes against the current in order to emerge even stronger.

The present government has done that since 2008 with much success, has a plan, and executes it without much hiccups. The LP has no vision, much less a plan and is entrusting a has-been to write its election programme, if ever it gets done.

Experimenting with a ‘safe’ alternative is like being on a cruise ship which stays in port because it is the safest place to be. The island mentality is very much alive within the Labour Party confines.
