David Mitchell has written a piece for The Observer called:
An internet troll’s opinion should carry no more weight than graffiti
He argues: “If you read a review, an opinion, a description or a fact and you don’t know who wrote it then it’s no more reliable than if it were sprayed on a railway bridge.”
I urge you to read the piece in the link below, including the shocker about Orlando Figes.

I read this in the readers’ comments and thought of you, Daphne:
I am admin at a very busy online forum, which is a bit like being a firefighter in hell.
Hear hear hear!
Well Daphne how about banning anyone who posts comments under a pseudonym on this website?
[Daphne – No point. I have a strict moderation policy, and many of those who use a nick give me their real name anyway. Also, anyone can call themselves Joseph Miscallef….or carmelo aquilina.]
