Tal-Labour, tal-lajf

For some reason that I just can’t understand – the lyrics are irrelevant and the music is not exactly motivational in campaign terms (compare to Fleetwood Mac’s Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow, used in the US presidential race a while back) – Joseph Muscat and Kurt Farrugia have chosen this track for their protracted, let’s-peak-several-times 2011/2012 electoral campaign.

Do David Guetta’s agents know about it, and has the Malta Labour Party paid for the right to use it?

I doubt it. They haven’t even paid their membership of Socialist International.

Oh, and if you look really hard, you might see Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando – who has a life, you understand – being ejected by security after getting involved in a brawl in the VIP area when his drinks were spiked by Men in Black who also tapped his iPhone.

It’s going to be easy to spot him: the only one pushing 50 in the crowd of 20-somethings. Dak ghax ghandu lajf. Jahasra.

Without you? Without who, GonziPN perhaps?

Hence why the PL is so vehemently against ACTA.

Could that be because the video is about a massive earthquake?

“I can’t win without you” is what Joseph Muscat said to Franco Debono.

Is it Muscat singing to the masses?

    I can’t win, I can’t reign
I will never win this game

    Joseph’s lament

    I can’t win, I can’t reign
I will never win this game.
Must I always come out lame,
    as I seek personal fame?

    Bad advice I’ve been given,
told the past is well forgiven,
but still, I’m owned by relics past,
Unable to get rid of them fast.

Where would I be without Michelle?
The rock behind me, you can tell,
    While I sleep throughout night,
Mich minds the twins, ah, she’s all-right!

    Dawn breaks, yet another day,
    let it bring whatever may,
familiar crowd, same old, same old,
bring them in the Party’s fold.

    Don’t discriminate, don’t be fussy,
let in the odd familiar hussy,
    Gay, lesbian or cross-dresser,
As they say, the more the better.

The election is ’round the corner,
let’s make Gonzi a PM former,
but with Edward, Alex and Varist,
will it be an opportunity missed?

Let’s bring in soldiers of steel,
give them a fabulous and free meal,
lots of drinks too, I should add,
lest one leaves here a wee bit mad.

We shall need them pretty soon,
in victory or defeat, morning or noon,
I shall appear at the Gallarija,
    freshly done, specifikament ghalija.

Let’s tell them anyway that we won,
so all will cheer, daughter and son,
but when all is said and done,
let them moan on Super One.

If only, if only Franco and Orlando,
had the courage of Marlon Brando,
voted with us or crossed the floor,
we’d have shown Gonzi the door.

But alas five more years in Opposition,
    there goes my premature supposition,
the voters have once more spoken,
no wonder I feel so bloody broken.

Thanks for the opening lines SC

Angus, I have to congratulate you, for your masterpiece called “Joseph’s lament,”
but don’t forget that, he’s the underdog and Prime Minister, prattikament.
