Somebody please gag that empty vessel

Bitch, bitch, kvetch and mince - x'antipatija ta' ragel stupidu, miskin

That insufferable half-wit Jason Micallef, Labour’s secretary-general emeritus, is on Super One TV right now bickering with the much smarter Anton Attard of PBS and thinking he’s ‘winning’ because Anton is a quiet, reserved, well-mannered sort of chap who doesn’t tell him where to stick it, while Jason is a shrieking harridan in a pant-suit who just stops short of putting his hand on his hip and sticking his elbow out to make a point.

This is what drove me to my lap-top to write about it: Jason’s constant reference to Super One as a ‘commercial station’ with which PBS competes unfairly.

COMMERCIAL STATION? So help me God before I lose my temper at the poor quality of half-wit politicos who have become a sad fact of life.

Super One TV and radio are not commercial stations, Jason, no matter how long and hard you stretch that definition. The political parties set up their broadcasting stations not to make money, but to propagate their message and counter the messages of their rival. That is the sole purpose of their existence. Without that purpose, they would not exist.

Commercial stations have to make money because that’s why they exist: to make a profit. They are businesses. But political party stations need to make money not to make a profit because they are businesses, but because they have to keep the station alive to keep the propaganda going. That’s different. It’s not a commercial exercise. It’s a propaganda exercise which needs to be financed somehow.

Super One is not being used to raise revenue for Labour. It’s being used to push Labour propaganda, and the Labour Party is forced to raise money, through party fund-raisers and other activities, to keep it going.

Commercial, my eye.

Super One Radio and TV are as commercial and Fondazzjoni Idejat is autonomous! (according to what Dr, Sammut who runs the Fondazzjoni said on a Pauline Miceli radio show last week),

Guess who has now joined the band wagon? Lino Farrugia Sacco’s son, David.

The paragraph before last is missing a “not” or not?

[Daphne – I rewrote it to make it clearer.]

You watch too much Maltese television, Daphne.

[Daphne – In fact, I watch barely any television at all.]

After the fiasco of the last Labour electoral campaign and when Jason told the supporters that Labour won and poor sheep went out celebrating, Jason should have hidden himself with shame.

No wonder Joseph Muscat does not want him as a candidate for the coming election. Still he has been promised the state’s broadcasting. How frightining to imagine PBS just like ONE which he already runs.
