Franco, Jeffrey and Labour: a PR disaster for all politicians
From the leading article (editorial) in The Times, yesterday:
Disenchantment with local politicians is over the way they do politics generally. The shenanigans of some, and of Franco Debono in particular, has done considerable harm to the image of politicians.
Running sharply against what President Emeritus Eddie Fenech Adami says that a politician’s duty is to serve, Dr Debono is constantly acting in a way that makes many think of him as being only interested in serving himself.
And Labour, which has been eager to trip up the government over anything that can possibly shorten the time between now and the holding of an election, has all too often hitched up to his bandwagon.
In reality, though, there is not much time left for an election to be held within the time officially laid down and, therefore, all the efforts being made by Dr Debono and Labour to shorten the life of the government are quite pointless.

I totally agree. The only positive thing that I see is that these three self-serving MPs are making Gonzi look stronger.by the day. For the last two years they threw everything at him including the kitchen sink and yet Gonzi is still going and going at the helm of our government.
To think that I’ve been waiting four years for The Times to come up with an opinion. Of course not, lest we upset the electoral favourites.
Franco Debono wasn’t even aware of the term ‘Black Monday’, it’s on his blog.
It is very much a case of thieves falling out. The Labour Party egging on Franco Debono desperately to precipitate an early election and Franco Debono fooling about and disappointing the expectations of Labour up to this day, when the mandate of this legislature is very near its natural end anyway.
“… all the efforts being made by Dr Debono and Labour to shorten the life of the government are quite pointless”.
Little things please little minds.
Another editorial of The Times which has become traditional on the eve of a general election. The Times tries to give a helping hand to the PN. All to no avail, it seems !
Oh Eddy, do you suggest burning it to the ground again?

After reading about the resignation of the Super One star EU Commissioner John Dalli, I believe in how much mature were your comments in the past and you were always right, Daphne, 100 per cent.
