And then he claims not to have a ghost-writer (and to have an A-level pass in English). IT IS WORTHED!

In order to reconcile, Joseph Calleja should send Franco a complimentary ticket to one of his concerts.
And hopefully, when he goes to the concert, he will turn off his mobile. And pull out the battery.
In that case Franco should leave his mobile phone at home. You never know with Franco’s mobile phone. It can ring even without battery.
Otherwise it will ring even when it’s switched off.
And if he applauds in the wrong places? Or worse still if he stands up in the middle of an aria and demands to present a case of breach of parliamentary privilege or a vote of confidence for Josph Calleja’s performance?
Perish the thought.
I would expect him to go on stage in the role of prima donna. I can see him in the role of Princess Turandot, while Prince Joseph Calleja sings the “Nessun dorma.”
Have cock, will travel.
Have Big 98 Rooster. Showed it off on MTV’s “Pimp my ride.” It was worthed.
When I was in Form 2 C I wore a worthed wool blazer.
When I was that age in Canada, I didn’t even have a coat. Couldn’t worthed.
That’s cos he rajts in a harry
All the signs of a dyslexic. Nothing wrong with that but he needs help.
It’s nothing to do with dyslexia.
Debono’s writing errors indicate a manifestly poor grasp of the English language, well below what one would expect of a lawyer (or any university graduate) and a member of parliament.
This has nothing to do with dyslexia or writing in a rush.
He is definitely not alone there. If you get most ministers and MPs to write blogs in English, most would definitely write much worse than Dr Debono, but they do not write, therefore we cannot judge them.
Censu you really think you’re clever don’t you? Equating an egocentric moron’s terrible use of language with an affliction just because it carries what you deem to be a fancy name – dyslexia.
If only Franco Debono tried as hard as dyslexics at improving himself we wouldn’t be in this mess.
So please before insulting dyslexics (who find themselves in their predicament through no fault of theirs) take time to educate yourself and save face.
Charmaine, your reply is full of insults and wrong assumptions.
I never insulted dyslexics and have no intention of ever doing so. Furthermore I never deemed dyslexia as being fancy either phonetically or the way it is spelt and much more so as an affliction.
Indeed the way you unsderstood and construed matters is beyond belief.
May I suggest a dose of re-education unless of course you are happy with loss of face.
Thank you, Charmaine. It is worthed.
Calleja, bad at school (as alleged by Debono) ended up a tenor and admired the world over.
Debono, excellent at school (though we have only his word for it) ended up the biggest w**ker on this small rock.
Enough said.
Yes, we do have his word.
And I do not for a second read his word as evidence of having been excellent at school or anywhere else.
The irony is that he THINKS that his own words speak highly of himself.
They actually do the opposite.
And he (and many others) don’t see it.
Oh, what bliss!
Mario Lanza was illiterate . It did not stop him from becoming world famous ……..FOR THE RIGHT REASONS.
We don’t just have Debono’s word that he was excellent at school. We also have his form IIC report, and it’s mediocre, not excellent.
It comes as no surprise. I’ve seen my children’s teachers write the same thing.
My teenage son goes to De La Salle College. Some of his teachers simply cannot string a proper sentence together in English.
His teachers have a right to deliver lessons in Maltese, I was told, whatever the subject, be it history, religion, geogrphy, science or even math, because “Maltese is our language”.
I remain astounded….and sad.
In the UK today we remember Guy Fawkes, “the only man ever to enter parliament with honest intentions [until Franco Debono]”.
It is Guido Fawkes, that is how he signed his name.
Look it up if you don’t believe me.
He was the most daring Jesuit coadjutor that ever lived.
Or, as the saying goes, “the only man ever to enter parliament with good intentions.”
Amen to that.
How about this one?

Then there’s Michele Florio Crollalanza.
So Calleja is a good tenor is he?
And worthed.
Vide Zachary Woolfe’s critique of Faust at the Met in the NYT.
“One of the loveliest voices in opera”.
Franku is completely out of his depth here.
I just cannot believe he does not have one single friend on these Islands who can convince him that he is at his very best with his mouth shut.

Why is it that Ms. Cini persists in dressing up in costumes reminiscent of the fifties epic QUO VADIS?
Was Mrs. Pullicino Orlando II on her way to play Cio-Cio San in Madame Butterfly? That theatrical make-up stank.
Insomma, having seen his latest performance on the Bundy show on Super One, and his spelling mistakes, I have reached the conclusion that – except in religion – Franco imnejjek minn kullimkien.

I’m afraid one must start to believe what Mintoff once said, that university certificates are only useful ‘biex tqartas l-incova fihom’.
A university certificate is worth exactly what you put into it.
By all accounts Debono’s efforts at uni were mediocre at best.
I wonder how such a “star student” ended up such a failure at 40. With his appalling level of English, no wonder he found university and life in general so difficult.
I don’t think he’s a failure at all. I mean he’s got a solid career which earns him good money, and he’s bagged that Ancilleri. What more does a man need?
He wasn’t a star student, unless you measure stardom by particular low standards.
Is Franco Debono really worth all this attention?
