    Who was the whistleblower?

    S/he deserves a medal.

  2. observer says:

September 1998 headlines “IL-POPLU MALTI CAHAD LIL ALFRED SANT” So much for a history of success.

Muscat may not be lying about introducing new taxes to finance what still appears to be a harebrained venture. That’s what makes the plan so sinister.

This is not 1996. Back then we were lucky to get away with the mess Alfred Sant left behind after the VAT fiasco.

2013 is a different world. The present global financial scenario will not allow for a similar mess today.

    The repercussions will be instant.

Sant was ‘technically’ correct that he was not introducing a “new” tax. You can hardly say that excise tax is a new tax, even if you go back to 1996. But of course, the devil is in the detail.

I am sorry to say that this time I will not be voting PN.

So now they are waking up, studying, promising cheaper utilities bills and talking about our environment in the south. They had so many years. From the election campaign I also notice how ‘tired’ they are.

Since there is Louis Grech as deputy and the new malta star Konrad Mizzi I made up my mind. I admire that ‘star’ (nobody knew about him) Konrad Mizzi, not only he comes across as very intelligent but although new he can take Tonio Borg though he interrupts him all the time.

He does not derail him and he is much more good mannered.

You will be really sorry, no doubt about that.

Muscat has been talking about the energy bills for years now. How come having the Maltese people so much at heart he didn’t propose this idea years ago and we (according to him) would have saved a lot of money?

It would have taken only two years (according to him) and by now we would have been enjoying the benefit.

I am confident that if the project proved the success he is claiming then the PM would have resigned and called elections earlier.

Labour – You can’t trust them.

I think that should be ‘you can trust them as far as you can throw them’.
