First he slips up with the Madonna, then he slips up with God.

So now we know. It’s God, not politicians, who will legislate for civil unions between homosexuals in Malta. Idiot.

In The Times today:

(Joseph Muscat) urged his young audience not to consider elections as “do or die events”.

“There’ll be much more important events in your lives: such as your wedding day or, God willing, your civil union day,” he said.

“Politics should not be the be-all-and-end-all,” he added, urging everyone to put aside differences and focus on unity, rallying with: “Malta for all.”

Dr Muscat arrived at the venue to the sound system of Denmark’s 2011 Eurovision entry New Tomorrow.

I thought that God was against civil unions?

Loving the photo in this report.

    1) Does Muscat honestly think that children not older than 8 years old are interested in ‘Malta taghna lkoll’?

    2) What are these children doing outside of school at this time?

    3) Did the PL contact the school to tell it to stop lessons so that children could listen to his patronising message?

I know Muscat has been in favour of lowering the voting age, but this defies all logic.

Next, he’ll be slipping off his platform – http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20130111/elections-news/education-reports-kept-under-wraps-muscat.452816

Why does he feel the need to stand on it, on a pavement, while his – ahem -attentive audience are made to stand in the road below?

  4. marks says:

He is so frivolous. As reported by the Times, his meeting with youths was more of a history lesson than a discussion of the LP vision (?) for them.

OMG what is Me Shall wearing? Another suggestion by Carina?

  6. Etil says:

Can this man not come up with something original and what has God to do with civil unions?

Even if he used the Maltese phrase ‘jekk Alla irid’ – God is not going to legislate.

Forsi jidirlhu, u ghalhekk jghaddi biz-zmien lil Tonio Fenech ghax tieghu ikbar. That sounds different on rereading it, but I guess you know what I mean.

  7. Censa says:

Joseph Muscat nauseates me. He is the kind of person who wears a mask continuously, leading them to forget their true self and believing their own lies and made up persona.

He’s been talking about “the people” as if the people are something alien to him and projecting himself above them.

He has nothing of a true Leader, the gimmick is him, the projection we are getting to see is what PL think should be a leader, and that is what’s most worrying.

Is this the best that they can offer?

  8. old-timer says:

But have’nt you noticed? Muscat and his smile, indicate that he can hood-wink anyone. Just look at the faces of his audience.

  9. Francis Saliba MD says:

Since when have “civil unions” been the will of God? And if so, which god?

  10. BlueBottle Fly says:

So first he posts a photo of himself “playing” with a dog…and then Mixell turns up with a coat which screams out cruelty to animals.

When has a civil union become God’s will?

  13. H.P. Baxxter says:

What’s with the hugging these days? Is there something we should be told?

  14. G. Calleja says:

It’s just a Maltese expression (jekk Alla jrid) .. I definitely wouldn’t say that Tonio Borg slipped when, in his grilling, he said “God forbid that we should be regimented in thinking one way” (when talking about abortion). Similarly, I see nothing wrong in what Joseph Muscat said.

Vera Alla maghna, if he wins.

  16. MX says:

It’s as though he is being coached behind the scenes on how to be as patronizing as possible.
