In my previous post, there’s a video showing how an LNG terminal (NOT the power station) proposed by Labour is actually built.
This is the planning process in the United States, which is not much different to the planning process in the European Union.
You know, what shocks me most about Labour’s proposal is the revelation that its thinking and attitude are still third-world.

So much for security of supply. Whoever’s going to do the risk assessment should also keep this in mind. Algeria is a dangerous place to do business in.
Yes, it occurred to me a couple of days ago when the issue of MEPA permets came up that we’re talking of a Labour ‘proposal’ but, in fact, there are at least two, perhaps three projects which are quite distinct from each other.
The power station is one thing but the regasification terminal is a totally different installation, with its own characteristics and impacts and MEPA might insist that two separate applications be made.
The huge gas tanks are related to the terminal but, again, their particular features might make it necessary to have yet another application.
In every case and for every application, environmental studies will have to be made separately so Labour’s idea that they will take the EIA for the BWSC plant and just make a couple of tweaks is totally incorrect.
They’re talking about a singular proposal because they’ve cut a single mega-deal.
