I bet he’s already picturing himself in bronze in front of the Auberge de Castille.

  2. Alan says:

In Italy, Benito had his desk chair on a stand and the chairs in front of his desk lower than the normal height, so his visitors would look up to him.

In Romania, Nicolae had the doorways in the People’s Palace built shorter so he would walk through and taller folk had to bend down. Now what do these gentlemen have in common…

But how did you get it into your head that Mussolini and Caucescu were gentlemen – and not the most horrid of egoistic megalomaniacs?

Common trick used in many offices nothing new. Lawyers are known to use it most commonly in office seat arrangements.

  10. C Falzon says:

I suppose the platforms are meant to make him look taller but the way they oversize them makes him look even smaller than he actually is.

In the second photo he looks really miniature.

In the third one they manage to make him look big and imposing but I think that has more to do with the size of the photographer rather than the platform.

  11. CIS says:

They were makeshift till the real one was produced.

  12. Riya says:

Ahjar tela’ Joe Mizzi fuq il-platform forsi jidher ftit u jghid xi cucata bhal meta kien qal li jekk jitla’ il-Labour isib iz-zejt zgur ghax hu jaf ezatt fejn jinsab.

Issa m’ghandniex bzonn iz-zejt aktar u m’ghandix dubju li Joe Mizzi anke fejn ghandu jsib il-gas jaf ukoll.

Partit Laburista mimli b’nies li hlief hrejjef u cucati ma’ jghidux biex iqarqu bin-nies injoranti!
