Bdejna, insomma

Yesterday evening, walking back to our car in Balluta from the Nationalist Party meeting in Dingli Street, I was accosted in front of the Carmelite Church by a short, ugly woman with a rough voice:

“INTI DEFINI?”

I made the mistake of saying yes.

What followed was a spectacle from the Arcipierku of my childhood: “HALLIHA L-FLOREN TAGHNA! GHAX MA TMURX *@& JA %”@*.” My husband hauled me away. “Who is Floren?” he wanted to know, agog.

“Oh, she’s the girl with the ‘ded’ in that Labour video,” I replied.

Labour doesn’t dare hold a meeting in Sliema but the PN should have held one at Tal-Barrani. That would have brought back memories.

And, while on the subject of Tal-Barrani, the PL billboard with face-painted nerds (and delinquents) should have been countered with red-and-white faces of PN supporters during the Golden Years, when the red was never paint.

Bdejna tassew! Sliema residents in particular will be prisoners in their own homes for a few days if Labour are elected. Basta Malta Taghna Lkoll.

I suspect that those who think the Labour hordes are going to obey their Fearless Leader’s exhortation to go to work on Monday and be civil to all their fellow Maltese after the election will be sorely disillusioned.

I hope I’m wrong but if I was a betting person I wouldn’t bet on it. Malta was really taghna lkoll under the PN.

  5. rcamilleri says:

Well, what do you expect from a short, ugly woman who votes Labour?

    That kind of garbage.

One can expect no more from these empty-brained indoctrinated morons.

If Labour are elected no chance of seeing those white flags. The red ones will be out in minutes.

  9. Grezz says:

Shades of things to come. Malta Taghna Lkoll indeed! More like (Labour supporters thinking) “iridu Malta kollha taghna”.

Joseph and co are real HYPOCRITES and I qualify this by the fact that they have even included tal-pepe in their campaign in order to win votes.

This after decades of Labour rubbishing us.

[Daphne – I’m sorry, but you don’t know the law. It is perfectly permissible to mock politicians and their fellow-travellers. It is, in fact, protected as a fundamental right. It is, on the other hand, against the law to accost people in the street and harass them in person. Also, ‘she made me do it’ is no defence. If it were, Simon Busuttil would have clubbed Toni Abela to death on TVM tonight. But he stayed cool, calm and collected. I’m afraid you Labour people really, really don’t understand free speech. This is the way you reason: “I believe in free speech but only within the boundaries of my own personal morality and tolerance. If anyone crosses those boundaries, even if they are within their rights at law, they should expect to get what’s coming to them. Kemm ghadkom ta’ wara l-muntanji – litteralment pre-Enlightenment.]

Maybe he doesn’t know the law but I’m sure that you don’t know your boundaries.

[Daphne – Freedom of speech has no ‘boundaries’, ap. That’s why it’s called freedom of speech. The only thing you can’t do is lie about others. I’m afraid supporters of the Labour Party simply do not understand this, which is why The Times was burned down by some of them under the instigation of Labour politicians.]

Daphne, I’ve always LOVED your balls. I wouldn’t consider what you write to be ‘journalistic’ essentially, but rather an opinion, which really exposes all that is wrong with the PL.

Hats off to you, because, let’s face it, you’re fuelling the fire of those who have been power-hungry for the last 2 decades+.

I have a question for you – are you not afraid that the Labourites might harass and injure you and your family irrespective on who wins this coming election?

I was born into a Nationalist family, and have voted PN all my life.

When everyone complains that we need a change, all I can say is ‘if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it!’

But this is irrelevant of course, as our political party is embedded in our DNA way before we are even born, which means Labourites will continue to vote for Muscat, no matter his inconsistencies and general inability to run a country.

Let’s backtrack Malta some 30 years, then we’ll all realise what a mistake we’re making if we vote red.
