Next eruption: Silvio Parnis

Published: June 18, 2013 at 8:29pm

That banana advert beneath his picture is a bit unfortunate. But anyway, apparently he’s been grumbling about not having been treated right.

Well, what do you expect?

His manipulative flirt of a party boss flattered him with promises that he would be made ‘Ministru Ghas-Sawt’, which caused Parnis to melt all over a television show, and now he’s been left with absolutely nothing, not even a miserly seat on an obscure board.

Welcome to the real world, Labour Party in general. You cannot promise everything to everyone and then not expect people to be disappointed.

Dr Muscat said a consultative council for the south will be set up shortly .

Well Silly Silvio declared that he was prepared to go into his promised ministry, clear everyone out and take over. So much for that. Yesterday evening I chanced on Smash and there he was with the other non minister Decelis, ranting on and on about their Joseph. It was simply side splitting.

Yesterday Joseph announced the formation of a Kummissjoni ghas-Sawt. Who will chair it? Our very own Silvio?

Dr Muscat said “The government was also working on complaints about the poor bus service from Cirkewwa, with buses leaving before the ferries arrived. Furthermore, one had to wonder why students going to the University were taken to the airport first on the buses.”

Excuse me, if the ferry does not arrive on time , then the ferry is providing a poor service, not the buses which have to be punctual.

It’s a long way to be the best in Europe or Svizzera fil-Mediterran!

    • Marlowe says:

The bus (X1) actually goes to university and Mater Dei first, then onwards to the airport. But don’t even bother finding out what’s broke before saying you are going to fix it.

    • Antoine Vella says:

If he said that students have to go to the airport from Ċirkewwa he was lying. Bus X1 – every 15-30 minutes according to the time of day – goes to the hospital and university BEFORE it goes on to the airport.

“Dr Muscat recalled that the Labour Party had established a spokesman for the south – Silvio Parnis – when it was in opposition, and that this led to speculation that a Labour government would have a Minister for the South. But he added that the party’s intention was always to set up a consultative committee dealing with issues faced in the south of the island.

He said that details on this council would be announced in the coming days.”

Silvio Parnis will be the chairman of this subentity. Any bets?

    • La Redoute says:

If it’s Silvio Parnis, make that a non-entity.

      • Gahan says:

If Franco Mercieca is more useful in the operating theatre than it goes without saying that our Silvio would be more useful as a cesspit plumber.

It looks like Joseph Muscat has more control over PBS these days than he does on Super One.

Jason never lets Joseph forget about the ‘brown envelope’.

  8. Wayne Hewitt says:

How I would have loved a one seat majority and some Silvio Parnis in Franco Debono disguise ‘hu go fik’ antics.

    Just note the pussy-footing:

FORSI tghiduli jkun jrid jitfa’ l-lixka, u peress li dan gvern li jisma’, FORSI jiblaghha wkoll.
