His much younger girlfriend and conspirator in the murder of a college student in his 20s was sentenced to nine years. Another man involved in the crime, Damien Leo, will be sentenced at a later date, but will likely receive nine years too.

Catania, 51, received a sort of notoriety in Malta by posting obsessive anti-immigration comments on the timesofmalta board and on this website, from his home in New Jersey. He had emigrated to the United States with his family when he was a child, but holds dual Maltese/American citizenship.

In 2010, he disappeared from the internet and before long, this website found out why: he had murdered a young man he suspected of having a relationship with Camacho, his much younger girlfriend, and had fled with her, using false passports. They were caught a few months later, in Cuba.

I hope that the Maltese-American Club of Astoria NY kick him out and learn their lesson not to give committee member space to the likes of this rubbish. They should start by taking down all pictures of him from the clubhouse walls. He made no secret of hating Obama for his color.

I do not think he will have too many cigars to puff on and bums to grope with any Camachos half his age now, but will probably see a lot of the likes of Obama on a daily basis to ponder on his big mouth.

Job well done, NJPD – and good riddance to the false patriot of Maltese notoriety, unfortunately.

Imagine if his fellow inmates (especially the Latino and blacks) were to get wind of his racist, xenophobic views?

    • Paul Bonnici says:

US prisons are full of blacks and Latinos. He is not particularly white, when I visit NYC I am always mistaken for a Latino, and white Americans speak to me in Spanish when they hear a foreign accent.

    That photo says it all.

I’ve been in prison in New Jersey and I can promise you that ole Denis won’t dare spout his racial hatred there.

  5. Sparta says:

It was a plea bargain. The other person (Damien Leo) involved in the murder pleaded guilty last May (2012) and was going to testify against Denis and Diana.

Diana then pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against Denis.

The very next day Denis pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter and kidnapping, not murder.

Under his original charges of first degree murder and kidnapping he was liable for the death penalty if convicted.

With the other two defendants lined up to testify Denis would surely have gotten convicted of that.

I know the details because he is my family on my father-in-law’s side.

Diana had plenty of choices. And she chose to lure Ross Heimlich to his death.

It was she who got Mr Heimlich alone so that Damien Leo and Denis could murder him.

She deserves every bit of time she received. All three of them do.

    • Bubu says:

I don’t get it though…did Diana really betray Denis with the Ross Heimlich in the first place, or was it just Denis’ paranoia?

If she didn’t, then why was her word not enough to convice Denis, and why would she choose to have a part in Heimlich’s murder?

If she did, then why would she want to murder him anyway? Was she forced by Denis and Leo to act as a lure? If she wasn’t forced, she sure is one sick kitten.

    • Judy Leo says:

I’m sorry but Damien Leo was not involved in the way the media is portraying. I know because he is my brother. I just wish people knew the truth…

  7. oxo says:

    Poor Ross Heimlich! RIP.

The rest got what they deserved.

  8. To Leo’s sister Judy your brother I feel sorry for because he is obviously slow to retarded? However he is just as guilty as the other two. Stop defending him
