Are they all taking leave of their senses? Here’s Frederick Testa, cruising half-naked on Grindr.
The political parties really, really need to organise some courses for their people and their appointees. Here we have a bunch of utterly clueless individuals let loose into cyberspace to embarrass themselves and those who appointed them/voted for them/they represent.
Here’s Labour’s billboard man and political appointee Frederick Testa, naked from the waist up (we are fortunately spared the other bits) cruising on Grindr.
I mean, is he MAD? Grindr advertises itself as being the way for men to find other men LOCALLY and NEAREST YOU. And that means in Malta, which also means that somebody is going to say, before long, ‘OH-My-God-it’s-Frederick-Testa’, and take a lot of screen-shots, one of which will eventually end up in my in-box.
This is the promo on grindr.com:
Free Gay iPhone App. Find local gay, bi and curious guys for dating or friends for free on Grindr. Meet the men nearest you with GPS, location-based Grindr.

Malta’s own Anthony Weiner.
He’s got the webcam on its side.

Spot the beard.
I wonder why he dyed it white during the electoral campaign.
KIF MA JISTHIX?
He is free to have sex with anybody he wants to (or tries to) and I will not judge him for that, but, shouldn’t he have some decorum?
Only a couple of months have passed by and Labour has furnished us with so many embarrassing situations that I cannot imagine myself remembering all of it next time I am trying to convince my better half that choosing them is similar to shooting yourself in the foot…twice.
Gibu x-xugamani! Ghax morna l-bahar.
He probably thinks it’s appropriate, in his position, to post selfies naked from the waist up. Hadn’t he been the prominent person he is, he’d probably be posting full frontals.
Daphne, I’ve been noticing a lot of your blog posts going along the lines of “how it is possible they don’t realise they’re not embarrassing themselves” etc.
I don’t really think they care about embarrassing themselves. In their view, they won by a landslide so the country is legitimately theirs and they can do whatever they want. They are metaphorically still pissing at every street corner marking their new territory.
This is still the start of the legislature after all. All these gaffes and indecencies will be long forgotten by the time the next election rolls by.
Given that the PN is still in hibernation mode with no sign of life, I’m not surprised that the mice are out and about causing mischief. They’ve been waiting 25 years for the opportunity after all.
Bubu, perfectly put. Embarrassing themselves? Who? Let us not be delusional. The standards are completely different. Here the Visigoths have invaded Rome, so to speak. What can anyone expect?
Aaah grindr. An app for gay men, that uses GPS to locate all the other gay men in your area.
Usually, most pics are of men’s private parts, so at least we don’t get to see that in this particular case. Grindr is invariably used to meet up for sex. However, there are those who just use it to chat, knowing the dangers of meeting strangers over the net for a quickie.
There is the heterosexual equivalent, blendr.
Daphne, you should download those apps on your phone, you’d be surprised who you’d find.
[Daphne – Certainly not, Edward. I am alive to the consequences of my name/face being on Grindr or Blendr, it being irrelevant whether this is for journalistic research.]
Excellent app for Saving Private Ryan.
Of course I was joking. However, you show the exact foresight and insight that people like these don’t.
Even an aspiring politician currently studying at university wouldn’t dream of putting themselves into such a vulnerable position. Even when they are no one, they will protect their future fiercely and prudently.
How such a basic principle is lost on people who are actually in positions is beyond me.
Frederick Semi-Testa.
Fredrick Blow My Testa (if you’re in the vicinity).
When people are in that position they should stay away from such apps. I remember receiving Grindr messages from a PN politician during the election campaign. I told him ‘WTF, aren’t you supposed to be working for a PN victory instead of being on here?’.
Unfortunately Maltese politicians and those in the public eye fail to notice that this behaviour is unacceptable for people in that position. Grindr is for people without a public profile.
The number of quirky gay men popping up in government appointed posts is now a matter of serious concern.
Who is this handsome person? Is he another Chairman ?
Fredrick Testa di Cazzo
He was only looking in there to see if he’d find some good drama productions for PBS.
