An eyewitness account of the prime minister and his men in transit from China, when the Air Malta flight was held up by 40 minutes to wait for them
Somebody who was at the gate for the Air Malta flight from Rome on the night of 13 September sent this to me the following morning. He doesn’t mention Konrad Mizzi – maybe he stayed behind in China for a while visiting friends and relations.
The Rome-Malta flight KM615 on 13th September was delayed by 40 mins. Boarding was scheduled at 19.50hrs and departure time scheduled for 20.35hrs.
As early as 19.30hrs, the hostess at the departure desk announced the flight and invited passenger to board the plane, but for unknown reasons the boarding gate then did not open.
Joseph Muscat and his clan, namely Louis Grech, Carmelo Abela, Keith Schembri, Mario Vella, Kurt Farrugia (holding his shopping bags) arrived at the departure gate at 20.25hrs and boarded the plane, and it was only after that that everyone else was allowed to board.
The plane had by then lost is departure slot and we had to wait till 21.15hrs before the plane took off. The captain apologized for this delay saying that this was due to “heavy passenger traffic at the airport”, but the real reason for this delayed departure was because the prime minister’s late arrival.

I wonder how he manages to get on the plane when he flies other airlines.
L-Air Malta taghhom ukoll.
Most of them might have had some private business to attend to.
Every Napoleon meets his Waterloo.
If someone disciplined for calling back the Gozo ferry to accommodate him is given a second chance, why should the Prime Minister and his entourage not also be given a second, third, fourth etc chance? That is the reality behind a Malta Taghna il-Laburisti biss”.
“Heavy passenger traffic ” – was Manuel Mallia there too then ?
“…Kurt Farrugia (holding his shopping bags) …”
Holding the Dear Leader’s shopping bags, more likely.
I wonder how he can hold shopping bags without touching them to the floor
Is there a way to know when the Prime Minister is planning to use a plane again? Because honestly, this is getting ridiculous and I would do everything to avoid a flight he’ll be taking. Delays at an airport aren’t fun.
Can an honourable Member of Parliament ask how much the delay cost Airmalta?
They can and they should. Journalists can also ask Air Malta directly.
Kiesah u kiesah. Dan minghalih li hadd ma jista ghalih, imma qed jinsa li kif tela’ jista jinzel. Qed jigi jaqa u jqum minn kullhadd.
disgusting!!
Michelle told us some time ago that Joseph has very good time management and if he’s late it’s someone else’s fault. What bare-faced arrogance.
Why don’t they just hire a goddamned private jet instead of treating Air Malta like their own private airline.
Gaddafi is dead, remember? And all his assets have been confiscated or destroyed – and that includes his private jet (and all the hair spray).
With so many delays caused by the Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, Airmalta is becoming unreliable.
Carmelo Abela is a member of parliament and the Labour Party whip. What was he doing in a government delegation?
This might have been a visit to China, but was it necessary and democratically correct to include a people’s representative in a government delegation?
Did the prime minister stop to buy another handbag for his wife?
I think he does it on purpose, for the same reason why the bride comes in last in a wedding. She wants all eyes to be on her and I think so does he.
No one would fear someone who lives by the rules as the subject would seem equal, and Muscat does not want to be looked at as an equal, he wants to appear as the 2nd messiah.
Hekk riedet il maggoranza ta Malta li nmorru lura ghal hmieg ta zmien Mintoff. Dawn in nies m’ghandhomx xjoffru hlief medjokrazija, arroganza u korruzjoni. Hekk kienu, hekk huma u hekk jibqaw. Is-sahta ta Malta.
