nudist

This is definitely the day’s best story. Picture the ludicrous sight of policemen spying on naked people and getting all revved up about it.

The following dialogue is not for children or sensitive individuals.

“Ara dak, Guz.”

“X’il-Madonna Maria hanina jimpurtani minn ragel gharwien. Oqghod arah int, pufta.”

“Gesu hanin, rajta dik? Ara x’par ghanda.”

“Fiha n*jka ta! Ghajjat lis-sir ha jarah ftit. Sir! Sir!”

In Times of Malta today:

Police ‘use binoculars to keep eye on nudists’

Naturists are claiming their unofficial bathing areas are being increasingly targeted by police “raids”, as they call on the Government to keep their promises of granting rights to minorities.

The Legalise Naturist Beaches Group claimed yesterday that the police were now using binoculars from cliff tops to conduct surveillance of nudists’ favourite spots.

“Rather than moving forward we are witnessing more police raids on our unofficial beaches,” it said.
The minister said she did not want to put the swimwear industry out of business

The police did not reply to questions by the time of going to print.

The Legalise Naturist Beaches Group … who are these? Are these our illegal nudists? So if these beaches are illegal isn’t it the duty of the police to enforce the law or should they turn a Nelson’s eye?

    • Chris Mifsud says:

The police should have better things to do rather than targeting harmless nudists.

In any case Malta should join the rest of the non-Islamic world and legalize naked beaches. Even Turkey (A predominant Muslim country) has legal nudist areas.

  2. Viva lejber says:

Most of the pairs of binoculars the police have were donated to the police by BirdLife. It’s a pity that during peak autumn migration they’re looking at the wrong birds

  3. kev says:

This had all been wrapped up by the mid-80s. The police were then instructed not to harass topless bathers and to allow naturists in relatively secluded areas. Three decades later we find it’s an issue.

The more things change the more they remain the same.

Life’s a beach at the morality squad.

    • Roger Smith says:

Very well said Kev! Instead of going forward this country seem to be going backwards. All thanks to the ignorance or lack of education in many. And they say they have ‘VISION’? Vision to go backwards, perhaps.

  4. Dear David,

Isn’t blasphemy illegal too? How many citations are issued for that? Isn’t naturism legal in all countries of the EU except Malta? Why is this? Aren’t there many immoral legal things in Malta such as being number one country in the EU for online gambling and 8th in the world for having a flag of convenience ship register?

I thought the tissues in the police car were because of their catering commitments . . . . hmmmm

  6. George Borg says:

quoting from article ‘ e-mail allegedly from Civil Liberties Minister Helena Dalli to her staff members on August 20, which was also sent to the nudist group.

The minister said the issue was not in Labour’s electoral manifesto and she did not wish to put the swimwear industry out of business.

Ms Dalli’s spokesman said the reference to swimwear was clearly a joke but he did not confirm whether the minister supported the campaign for legal naturist beaches by the time of writing.’ How nice to have a civil liberties minister JOKING with MINORITY groups! Perhaps PL joked about the electoral manifesto too with empty promises and stupid ministers!
