Labour’s equal opportunities officer Rachel Tua flies to Las Vegas – and check out the rest of her travelling companions

Las Vegas

This is the best headline in the newspapers today. And the story’s pretty good, too. What a load of bums. You’d think that none of these people had ever gone anywhere or done anything before, the way they’re all queuing up to freeload like backwoods bunnies. Do they cram food into their handbags at weddings too? Or sneak out with the decorations?

These people have no shame. Just jump onto the Labour gravy train, and to hell with meritocracy.

  2. Ta'Sapienza says:

She might have got some travel tips from Marlene Mizzi, who as chairman of SeaMalta went on a company holiday to Las Vegas to a cruise liner conference. Cost the company a packet.

Wasn’t Mario Galea a John Dalli appointment originally when the LGA was set up?

Yes, he was with the other ‘switcher’ Roger Strickland who managed to get his nose out of Edward Zammit Lewis’s ass for the four days he needed to go on this junket.

  4. Joe says:

Deputy leader Toni Abela ‘seems’ a ‘bit’ angry about Rachel Tua’s comments about immigrants, but she’s probably living it up in Vegas right now.

  5. Matthew S says:

I doubt that there has ever been a Maltese government which has ever attended so many international meetings, groupings, conferences and so on in such a short period.

I think they have somebody at Castille employed to scour the internet searching for international gatherings being held in interesting places.

Then they go off on a tax-payer funded holiday using the pretext of official business.

Especially these days where travel is so cheap.

  8. Alf says:

After Rachel Tua’s outburst on Facebook trying to retract her racist comments (yes, they are racist), I think a couple of days in Las Vegas on the Maltese taxpayers’ cheque-book could calm her down a little.

  9. SPAM says:

It is a disgrace for Malta to send such people.

Frances Blenheim has no place to be in Vegas unless she is recruiting staff to assist her.

She handles customer complaints when they have disputes with the operators.

The backlog is enormous apparently and players are fuming.

The saddest part of this story is much undisclosed. This fools are ruining Malta’s reputation. The LGA was till last year a motor for the Maltese economy. In their short reign they have managed to destroy the reputation built. Rumour has it the CEO will soon be replaced for a Labour-leaning one and to assist John Dalli’s man, Mario Galea.
