One of the few things the Leader of the Opposition feels confident discussing without a rehearsal.

One of the few things the Leader of the Opposition feels confident discussing without a rehearsal.

Look what happens when you vote in a leader who’s been promoted beyond his abilities as a Super One hack: the man hasn’t got a clue.

Like all those women who fall silent at the dinner-table when ‘important subjects’ are discussed (no offence, girls), he fell silent during the debate on the OPM estimates – when he is the shadow minister, for Christ’s sake – because he hadn’t got a clue and was afraid of saying something stupid.

So saying nothing and letting the men talk around him seemed preferable. Too bad he couldn’t turn to another nonplussed guest to talk about nappies and night-feeds and childbirth and the difficulties of conceiving a child when you’re in your 30s but biology doesn’t know you’re still a zaghzugh, which seems to be his specialty.

Muscat does not take part in OPM Budget debate

Opposition leader Joseph Muscat did not speak in the Budget debate on the Estimates of the Office of the Prime Minister which started yesterday and continued this morning.

It was the first time in recent history that the Leader of the Opposition did not speak during the debate on the ministry he directly shadows.

Despite his limited stature (what is he–five feet f**k all?), this man-child continues to bump his thick head. Perhaps he should borrow one of Alfred’s rugs in order to limit hair loss and bruising.

Marisa Micallef advised Joseph Muscat to stick to a very popular song ”You say it best when you say nothing at all”

[Daphne – You overestimate her. Marisa Micallef has never worked in political communication or public affairs. She isn’t even capable of giving bad advice in this field, just no advice at all. I’m sure the Labour Party has discovered that by now and is wondering how to cancel the contract with no public fall-out.]

  9. Claude Sciberras says:

I personally am not at all surprised and by the time we get to the election many will realise the gulf between the experienced leader of the PN and the Leader of the opposition who does not even have experience in running a ministry let alone a whole nation. Those who like me knew the background of the leader of the opposition before he got elected were amazed that he had the gall to run. The Labour Party had a couple of valid candidates but…

I just hope the rest of Malta does not have to wait until he is running our country to realise how easily we could go down a very wrong road…

  11. Kelinu says:

Edgar Gatt: Marisa Micallef advised Joseph Muscat to stick to a very popular song ”You say it best when you say nothing at all”

…perhaps more a case of “better to keep silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and prove it”
