A couple of pictures of Erin Tanti not wearing a watch

Because, you know, his defence counsel was quite adamant about the fact that his client never wears one. His client told him so, therefore it must be true.

Jaghtini l-impressjoni ta’ vulkan mimli rivoluzzjoni kontra dak kollu li hu instituzzjoni, stroja u uman.

Dan qed niehdu minn dak kollu li jghidli dan ir-ritratt (it-triq, is-sidrija, is-salott etc etc tipo McLuhan, The Medium is the Message).

X`imkien habat ma’ hajt li hallih imwegga fil-karattru tieghu ghal ghomru.

Gralu bhat-taljan Beppe Grillo skond kif iddeskrivih Renzi “Gie biex jibdel il-palazz imma il-palazz biddel lilu”.

    • Joe Fenech says:

Hi is a completely different character to Grillo, who, let’s not forget, is battling a country that’s flat out with corruption, incompetence and economic lethargy.

At any rate, the lawyer is being facetious. Many people these days do not wear a watch but check the time – l-arlogg – on their mobile.

One has to ask, however, why would a person in such a distressful situation look at his watch at all. It almost sounds like he was in a hurry.

    • AG says:

What time was the ferry trip leaving?

    • Min Jaf says:

Lisa’s and Erin’s mobile phones were both inside his locked car on the cliff top when Erin was picked up from the foot of the cliff.

Whether or not Erin was wearing a watch that day is not a vital element. It is now abundantly clear that he intended to literally dump Lisa, then make his way to Italy using money stolen from his business associate, before her body was found.

All carefully scripted – except for the highly appropriate Tales of the Unexpected type twist. Lisa took his jacket and his car keys down with her, so nailing him to the crime scene.

That was followed by yet another unscripted twist: in seeking to recover his jacket, Erin stumbled and fell, partially immobilizing himself and so thwarting his evil plan.

Erin, the cynical super-confident scriptwriter had no plan B. His only recourse was to remain silent, then to lie his way out of the situation but, for all his experience in acting, he has shown himself to be absolute crap at that, as well.

He was synchronising his alibi to the results of the autopsy.

Was he in a hurry? Well, if he had to catch the ferry to Pozzallo at 6.30am, he would have had to be at the port around two hours ahead, especially if travelling by car.

  3. M. Cassar says:

The right to a defence lawyer might be one thing but saying that a person never wears a watch when this is clearly not the truth is another.

I will probably never understand how some people sleep at night and lawyers who make untrue statements are right there at the top of the list.

Fine example of how the spirit of the law should be upheld to protect the innocent!

  4. Loth says:

Maybe he was in a hurry to catch the ferry off to Sicily? And besides his mobile phone, which I had read somewhere had been switched off much earlier, I’m sure he had a clock in his car on the dashboard.

He looks like a fat leprechaun that lost its chin.

“100% of victims die after falling 85 feet”

“Mortality after striking a hard surface is nearly double that of hitting a soft one..”

    40 metres = 131 feet

I cannot help but think that this was just a case of plain, cold-blooded, premeditated murder. What shocks me most however, is that he was stupid enough to think that he would be able to get away with it.

He should have at least grabbed some branches and scratched himself pretending that the trees broke his fall. What a stupid little man.

A waist coat shouldn’t be worn on short sleeved shirts.

The legs should not be apart when standing or sitting.

You have managed to fool many a fool but you will not manage to fool me, Daphne. The decorated chair and a similar sofa covered with plastic and the so called” sidrija” Erin is wearing clearly indicate that these 2 photos which you are making so much fuss about were taken during some kind of a play or something like that which was surely being performed outdoors. You would have to be a moron not to realize that.

[Daphne – Who’s the moron? The plastic-covered chairs are there every day. They belong to a bar called Tico Tico in Strait Street, and are used by patrons there for coffee or drinks. That waistcoat is Tanti’s everyday, affected garb.]

    • La Redoute says:

The photograph is a still from an interview for The Zone on timesofmalta.com

The Zone’s interviews are with young people who are presented as role models to those younger than themselves.

  11. E says:

He looks like an actual dwarf in these pictures. In fact, isn’t anyone under 5 feet tall classed as such?
