I wonder what Barroso thought of his Commissioner’s undignified and highly inappropriate multiple forays on Malta television

Published: July 8, 2014 at 10:16pm

Did he know about them? Where they translated for him? Was the context explained? This is one such example: an EU Commissioner as a guest on the Fat Controller’s Labour Party television talk show, criticising a prime minister and a government and being bitchy about the economy.

Oh, but he was wearing his John Dalli hat at the time, and not his EU Commissioner hat, even though the Fat Controller addresses him as ‘Kummissarju’. Isn’t that how those people think?

Imbarazz.

One must give credit to Dalli’s foresight. He’s spot on when he refers to the “klikka li jiehdu” and government appointments under Muscat’s tenure.

The election result vindicated Mr Dalli.

[Daphne – No, David, it did not. The election result showed that a large number of people are not particularly bright, do not keep up with events, are poor analysts and even poorer judges of character. That said, to say that everybody who voted Labour thinks like John Dalli is offensive to them.]

If that were true, we’d have rioting in the streets daily over the government’s abysmal economic choices and continuous waste of public money. But we don’t have that, do we?

Study his body language. Not once does he look at the camera.

‘ Where’ does not mean ‘were’….
