Well, obviously the government of Malta can’t give a comment to CNN about the MOAS mission, because then the government of Malta would have to tell CNN why the man who lends the MOAS its considerable credentials, former defence chief Martin Xuereb, is running the MOAS mission in the first place.

I think they do not comment because government is against these people setting foot on our precious island.

If they approve of this initiative then they would be opening their doors to the migrants when they have made it so obvious that they would rather push them back.

The government has pushed itself between a rock and a hard place with its stance on this mission by not saying anything about it.

Government was hoping that it would not succeed so that they would not have to approve or disapprove.

They were probably dead against it in the first place, more so because of who is representing it. Ah, Labour – you gotta love the way they operate.
