ConRat is going to publish a “milestone schedule”

Published: November 2, 2014 at 8:37pm

ConRat and his boss have gone from committing themselves to a March 2015 deadline for the commissioning of a new power station to committing themselves to a 30 November 2014 deadline for publishing a new deadline for that same power station.

And you just know, watching ConRat struggle here and try to cover his awkwardness, that he’s thinking, “My God, I’ve got four weeks in which to find a solution and short of prostrating myself before some weeping statue of the Virgin Mary, I can’t think what else to do.”

When he is asked to give a date he said that he will give a timeline by the end of November and then he has the brass neck to say “and then you can hold us to that date” incredible!

  2. RF says:

More like a millstone around his neck.

    Like a ‘milestone’ cowboy,

Getting cards and letters from people I don’t even know,

And offers comin’ over the phone.

  4. NGT says:

Why was the minister applauded when he said that a new date would be announced by the end of November? What utter morons!

This is original for those of you who have never heard the song

It is more like a mill stone round his neck than a mile stone round his plans.

  7. anthony says:

This imbecile is a fraud and a major liability for the MLP in government.

He does not have a clue.

The sooner he is sacked the better in the interest of the entire Nation.

He is simply not fit for purpose.

    He is a sham.

  8. Rosie says:

Squirming with discomfort, eyes darting left to right, the minister painted himself into a very tight corner.

  9. Claude says:

When pressed to give a date, Minister Mizzi tells the presenter to wait till the end of the month and then he will tell him but has the brass neck to add “and then hold us to it”.

Like we held them to their March 2015 deadline?

Minister Mizzi, your word on project deadlines is not exactly something that anyone can hold you to.

I remember that before the election he used to say that they had everything ready and that they would hit the ground running.

They did hit the ground but they don’t seem to be running at all.

  10. Joe Fenech says:

Someone needs to delve into his CV. How on earth could Mizzi have been an energy consultant in the UK?

  11. canon says:

What about the ten-year agreement that Konrad Mizzi promised he could get, when he was interviewed by Norman Vella on TVHemm?

  12. Go Figure says:

it’s good to see Peppi in good form. He hasn’t been looking too sharp lately. Perhaps he can start asking ministers simple direct questions.

I don’t know, easy things – like asking the justice minister whether he has ever broken any serious laws and covered up what he did. Just off the top of my head: Has he ever had a relationship with a teenager?

  13. Gaetano Pace says:

Milestones are never printed on road maps. Why does KonRat need to print one on PL`s road map? Should it not have been better if he were to sit down and started writing writing his Apologia Pro Esse Eis.

  14. muddy waters says:

Whatever anybody says, the Xarabank crowd, although not understanding a word, will clap and vote for these people.

  15. Lizz says:

You need a road to place your milestones on, and a map if you want to get the location right, but it seems this chap is well and truly lost.

  16. What guarantee is there that the goalposts will not be moved again at the end of November? If the minister is not ready to be held to account for missing the 2015 target date, what guarantee do we have if he misses again the new timetable targets?

    • ciccio says:

The funniest bit would be if, before the end of November, the prime minister conducts a reshuffle and Konrot Mizzi loses the energy portfolio.

Now that’s what I would call a move of the goalposts.
