Employment Minister John Dalli over-ruled the ETC board and ordered them to allow Leisure Clothing to “import more Chinese”

John Dalli

I told you that I sensed John Dalli’s presence in the Leisure Clothing corruption/human trafficking scandal, and that he was bound to crop up in it sooner or later.

Call it instinct, or maybe I’ve been following these weirdos so closely now that I can see patterns in their behaviour and links between people.

Now a reader has just posted this comment beneath my piece about Saviour Balzan’s failure to cover the story properly.

Well, well, well, and wonder of wonders.

Maybe Saviour Balzan has cotton wool over his eyes as usual due to his John Dalli fetish? Around five years ago I was involved with the Employment & Training Corporation, and Leisure Clothing came to request an increase in the cap on the importation of Chinese to work in the factory.

ETC was totally against it, as it felt that any new jobs should be given to Maltese. The employment minister at that time, John Dalli, over-rode the ETC Board and gave a ministerial direction to increase the cap.

And oh, the lawyer representing Leisure Clothing was Pawlu Lia, the Labour Party’s lawyer. And their PR Executive was a certain Adrian Grech Cumbo who has landed an iced-bun as director at ITS.

I would not touch him with a barge pole

Insomma, no wonder the PL were right to call John Dalli Johnny Cash. He had a finger in every pie.

I can’t help imagining that Leisure Clothing is a hive for the Labour Party.

The stink inside the MLP skip gets from bad to worse to unbearable.. It’s worse than we thought.

  5. Makjavel says:

So Dalli has been messing around for quite some time.

No wonder he was collected by the crooks brigade, run by chief brigand Joseph Muskrat.

  6. White coat says:

Poor Johnny Dalli, everyone seems to want to frame him, miskin, jahasra.

Thank you, Joseph, for taking him in. I think there he’ll feel quite comfortable and secure.

Someone once assured me that when Lino Spiteri quit politics most of his canvassers started working for John Dalli.

I have no proof this is true but the person who told me this insisted that it was.

He is everywhere. He’s more ubiquitous than St.Martin de Porres.

Why did Gonzi put a crook in charge of employment?

All this brings to mind your wisely chosen phrase that could easily be their epitaph: “They didn’t get there to fight corruption, but to be part of it”.

What about all the working permits to Serbs whose country is outside the EU?

These do cleaning jobs employed by agencies, security etc. jobs the Maltese can do.

They are being exploited. Who is benefitting? It is not true that Maltese people do not want to do certain jobs. It is just that they do not want to be exploited in violation of the law, like these people.

The Serbs and other non-EU citizens are putting up with a lot of abuse because they are afraid of losing their working permit.

Who is going to investigate and ask questions in Parliament?

  14. Madoff says:

Not only is Dalli BA a conspirator/traitor and a bad loser who suffers from a persecution phobia, he is also a thief and slave trafficker.

  15. Nighthawk says:

I think we need a regularly updated post on the Labour personalities involved in one way or another. You know, just for soundbite value, after all, that’s how it works now. So, those involved with the Chinese slaving company in one way or another so far are:

    Jimmy Magro
    Lino Spiteri
    Ramona Frendo
    Pawlu Lia
    John Dalli
    Adrian Grech Cumbo

    Have I missed anyone?

  17. John Higgins says:

Adrian Grech Cumbo was heard boasting after the 2013 election that before the election he was approached by PL officials to pledge his vote to them – something which he did and which earned him his iced bun.
