The Malta Freeport chairman is a socialist only when it comes to other people’s property

The chairman of Malta Freeport has tweeted his congratulations to the Kings’ Own bandclub in Valletta for getting away with using private property as a protected tenant – a palace on Republic Street – and paying a mere pittance in rent while subletting (not allowed under the terms) the entire ground floor as a restaurant for thousands of euros every year, while the owners of the building are denied the use of their property.
