Top comment: “You cannot run a democracy in the way you run a business.”

Something must have gone seriously wrong in Muscat’s childhood. He seems to have a grudge against everyone and everything, as evident from the words he chooses and from his body language.
People like Cyrus Engerer probably do not realise that for Muscat this is only a game of power. His intentions are far from genuine.
When he does not need you any more he will dispose of you like he never knew you.
Muscat cannot relate to anyone at an emotional level, otherwise his behaviour and decisions would be very different.
His decisions are psychopathically cold, the result of completely self-centered scheming, manipulation and a general lack of civic and social responsibilities. The goals are only two: personal profit and power over others.
You cannot run a democracy in the same way you run a business. Business decisions are not made in a democratic manner, because they don’t have to be.
In a democracy citizens are not your customers or employees, but your boss – they are only delegating their own power through their vote.
Muscat does not seem to understand this. He seems to think he is prime minister thanks to his own incredible skills.
The reality is that Muscat is only in power because there are people with money who have a direct and vested interest in having him in power, and who funded his electoral campaign.
That, and a general boredom with the previous administration. Muscat happened to be in the right place at the right time.
He is now following in the footsteps of the powerful individuals who put him there, and having his strings pulled. At this stage he probably does not have a choice anyway.
However, any person with principles and a bit of self-respect would have refused to participate in such schemes. The fact that he seems to be enjoying it – his smirk and very evident self-satisfaction have not diminished – are not at all reassuring as to where his true priorities lie.
People like Cyrus Engerer had better be on the lookout because with Muscat there are always ulterior motives and a steep price to be paid.
The moment you do not comply with his requests, or stop being of any significance or use to him, some sort of story about you will come out and you’ll have to go.
Muscat’s strategy is to make you think you’re valuable and important, but you’re just a pawn to him in a game of chess, which he will sacrifice without a thought the moment it suits him or he can get something better
