Man who shot lapwing is facing trial for attempted murder

Shaun Demicoli, 37, who lives in Birzebbuga, has been charged with shooting and injuring a lapwing today.

There was no immediate judgement as there was yesterday with Stefan Micallef, who shot a cuckoo dead, because there has been no admission and Demicoli is pleading not guilty.

Demicoli also stands accused of breaching the conditions of his bail as ordered by the court in 2011 and 2014.

He has several pending cases before the courts, including trial for the attempted murder of a Tunisian man.

Fascinating, isn’t it, how somebody like this is allowed a gun licence and a hunting licence.
