The president has resurrected Edina Monsoon and hired her

The President’s office has sent this email out to members of the Royal Malta Yacht Club.

The missing bit of crucial information is exactly how this is going to raise money or awareness about…hey, what exactly?

It’s the President’s Cruise for Solidarity, but solidarity with what or whom?

And if it’s fund-raising, why don’t they all stay home and donate the money they would otherwise spend burning fuel between Grand Harbour and St Paul’s Bay?

AbFab’s Edina Monsoon would have been proud of this stunt – I can see the show happening in my head, complete with Bolly.

Save the Date – Sunday 12 July 2015 – The President’s Cruise for Solidarity

Cruise for Solidarity is a new event that will be held on Sunday 12th July 2015. This event is being organised by the Office of the President in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund, under the auspices of H.E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, President of Malta.

All boat and craft owners together with their families and friends are being called and are deeply encouraged to participate. Let’s all hoist the event flag and be counted in favour of this cause of excellence.

Together, let’s all motor and sail from the Grand Harbour to St Paul’s Bay. A small entry fee will turn the presence of our flotilla into a modern convoy of solidarity. People and causes that need help belong to us – let’s take ownership by helping through a day at sea.

H.E. The President will be on board the leading boat that will depart from the Grand Harbour at 1030hrs. Boats, under the guidance of appointed officials will be kindly asked to form a line and then follow the lead boat to St Paul’s Bay where entertainment will follow.
