Hasn’t the US ambassador run out of stunts to pull?
The American ambassador must think Malta is one extended version of a show on the Silvio Berlusconi channel. What a waste of space.
Forty Maltese soldiers have received training from the US Defence Institute for Medical Operations (good) but the US ambassador couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make a spectacle of herself in the press (bad) by standing in as one of the ‘injured persons’ while they practised on her.
Why – because they couldn’t find anyone else?
No, because if she’s not dancing around with Joseph’s rainbow crowd outside parliament and applauding the amazing liberal values of the Pushback King, or in the front row at one of “Michelle’s” fashion shows at the Office of the Prime Minister (woman ambassador/must go to fashion show/check) or cheapening her office by guest-starring on some super-tacky ‘let’s get personal’ show on the Labour Party’s television station, or having the prime minister enlist her in the pretence that Jordanian contractor is an ‘American investor’, she’s not happy.
These are testing times for Malta on the international front. The United States needs to send out a diplomat with his or her head screwed on the right way round.
