Driving through the mess that is Castile Square, it suddenly occurred to me that I’d seen those plans somewhere before. But where?

Then in one of those strangely serendipitous moments, I found an email from a reader when I got back home, with a photograph of the Campidoglio attached.

Bingo.

Except that the Campidoglio is beautifully done, and the plans for Castile Square look like a bunch of irate and petty-minded siblings have squabbled over their inheritance of a patch of land and divided it up as spitefully as possible while sitting in the notary’s office.
