The Nationalist Party newspaper Il-Mument reported yesterday that decisions on early retirement schemes/golden handshakes at the Bank of Valletta are taken by the chairman and two directors.

In Michael Falzon’s case, the two directors are Deo Scerri, who is the Labour Party’s long-time auditor and the man representing the interests of Naji Hasan Hani Al Salah and his Zonqor Point university project, and long-time Labour Party official Joe Zrinzo. And the chairman, of course, is John Cassar White, appointed by the incoming Labour government.
