Malta: the Filling-Station in the Mediterranean

Damian Tay, Gasol’s vice president of corporate development, says in this interview that it is looking to use its Malta power station project as a base for the bunkering of liquefied natural gas as the deadline approaches for all ships to run on LNG. In other words, nothing to do with the power station at all, but they are going to bunker LNG for use in Mediterranean shipping.

This means that what is going up at Marsaxlokk is not merely (and that’s bad enough) facilities for a floating LNG terminal but a full bunkering station for liquefied natural gas that will be sold on to the shipping industry.
