Joe Sammut is still registering companies for Libyans

Former Labour Party treasurer Joe Sammut, who got to know the Gaddafi family while in that official party role and who then moved on to handling their financial affairs through accounts held in Malta, is currently under investigation by the police for his methods in registering companies so that Libyan citizens can obtain a Maltese residence visa.

He has registered 850 companies for that purpose in just a few months, charging fees of €7,500 each to a total of almost €6.4 million.

He registered the most recent company only last Thursday, when his name was already being mentioned in court as the source of fraudulent information in the trial of one of his clients who was then deported.
