Army Minister’s communications man mocks soldiers and says they have no balls
John Pisani, a long-time employee of the General Workers Union newspaper L-Orizzont, moved to the Home Affairs Ministry as communications officer when Carmelo Abela took over from Manuel Mallia. Mallia’s communications officer was Ramona Attard, a former reporter with the Labour Party’s television station.
Here he is, poking fun at soldiers – when he is the communications man for the Army Minister – for complaining about having to work all day, while being kept in barracks at night, on a small dry sandwich and an orange.
Incidentally, the soldiers sent me the same photograph of and complaint about their food that they sent to Marlene Farrugia, but she highlighted the matter on Facebook before I could do so here. I would have done so otherwise, but imagine the conspiracy theories if I had.
I don’t suppose anybody in the government has sat down to think about what it means when Marlene Farrugia (outspoken woman MP) and I (outspoken woman journalist) become the first port of call for soldiers who want to draw attention to the bad conditions under which they’re now operating.
