Those €4 million were raised throughout the year and not on Boxing Day

Strenuous efforts are being made to create the fraudulent impression that the wonderfully generous people of Malta rang up to donate €4 million in 12 hours during the Community Chest Fund’s fundraiser on what used to be called Boxing Day but is now for some reason called L-Istrina, which is supposed to be New Year’s Day.

The reality is that around €1.4 million were shown quite clearly (see television screen shots below) to have come from other fundraising events held earlier this year, and there were also around €400,000 on top of that from the auction of the Volvo cars used for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
