Look what Frankie ‘I Shot The Sheriff’ Grima has put up on the terrace The City Lounge, his restaurant which is an integral part of the Grade 1 listed Main Guard building.

If you check the Planning Authority portal, you will find that The City Lounge – a favourite haunt of savoury chaps like convicted cocaine trafficker Meinrad Calleja, sexy Labour TV star Charlon Gouder and the Minister for the Economy, Chris Cardona – does not even have a planning permit to operate.

Application PA 2382/15 for “Change of use from Class 4B shop to Bar and Restaurant Class 4D and installation of signs” has yet to be discussed by the Malta Environment and Planning Authority, on 22nd January.
