Economy Minister Chris Cardona lives in flat owned by father of “abducted boy”
Prompted by news reports of Anthony Busuttil’s flashy return to Malta with his seven-year-old son, to which he summoned the media, I checked out his Facebook page and realised to my astonishment that he is the very same Anthony Busuttil to whom I had spoken a few months ago when I discovered that the Economy Minister, Chris Cardona, had moved to one of his flats after leaving the Portomaso flat owned by his businessman friend Silvan Fenech.
His Facebook page carries promotions for those flats, Park View Mansions, which is how the realisation dawned. Suddenly, a few things began to fall into place. Recalling my telephone conversation with him only shored up my instinctive assessment of his behaviour in this case. Though I was perfectly polite and civil when I rang him to ask whether the Economy Minister is paying rent for the flat at Park View Mansions, Busuttil first froze into silence when he answered my call, not even bothering with the basic civilities, and then turned completely hostile, saying “Look here, Daphne Caruana Galizia, I don’t even know who you are” and turning menacing and aggressive.
