Hopalong Cassidy is back from his cruise
It’s unbelievable how the media reported Joseph Muscat’s absence from the Victory Day commemoration yesterday (another sung mass – B-O-R-I-N-G for young and thrusting habitues of ‘Brussel’).
Some told their readers that it was because of his leg.
You’d think he was in traction and you wonder why they didn’t bother to ask.
Others came nearer the truth but not quite, and said he was on a ‘btala barra minn Malta’.
It turns out that the MSC Splendida put into Grand Harbour at 8am on Wednesday, giving him more than enough time to make it to the ceremony.
But he couldn’t be fagged to do it and played truant instead, with a note to the teacher. The dog ate his homework.
Now perhaps all those who reported that he was absent because of his leg will rush to ask him why that leg didn’t keep him away from the president’s father’s funeral. But somehow, I don’t think so. Maybe they think it’s a personal question.

Maybe he went to the funeral because he wanted the President’s signature on his plaster cast, to show off to his mummy back at 52 (or was it 52a), Triq San Pawl Milqi.
I am glad that the leader and his wife did attend this funeral. At least he showed respect to President Abela and his family.
In the matter of his wife, I understand that she would want to represent the Muscat family in her husband’s absence but it was not her place to lead the Labour Party or represent it.
With regards to the family cruise, everyone needs a break but Dr. Muscat’s timing as usual drew too much negative attention. Talk about putting your foot in it – Dr. Muscat put a whole leg in it.
Here is an article Kev would love to read. It is written by Ambrose Evans Prick-ard, a formidable analyst of EU affairs.
Says that Malta and Latvia have more power than the UK in controlling the future of the City of London.

Forsi ma dhalniex ghalxejn fl-Ewropa.
While Joseph was away Inspector Gadget was not left in charge of the PL. Tick tock, tick tock, Ang.
Who knows exactly who is “in charge” of the PL, with or without Muscat?
That ‘dress’ hurts my eyes every time I see it.
Usually, the MSC Splendida enters the Grand Harbour on Wednesday morning at about 09:00 and leaves at about 18:00 of the same day. I am stating this just to shorten the time period indicated in the article.
[Daphne – It enters Grand Harbour at 8am. Check the schedule on the Hamilton Travel website if you don’t believe me.]

Maybe a certain mummy’s boy would do well to heed his example
