Enough already with the “genuine Labourites” and the “Laburisti genwini”

Let’s stop this with the “genuine Labourites”. So…are the other Labour voters made of fake leather and plastic, or what?

You either vote Labour or you don’t. And quite frankly, it’s the “genuine Labourites” who are the worst, if by that you mean the die-hards – because no matter how bad the Labour Party was and still is, and how good the Nationalist government, they just kept right on voting for the one and against the other.

If a “genuine Labourite” is somebody who voted to replace Prime Minister Fenech Adami with Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici or Alfred Sant, you can flush him. If a “genuine Labourite” is somebody who voted against EU membership because that’s what the Labour Party told him to do, you can flush him too.

“Genuine Labourites” are the bane of Malta. Switchers are a problem only because “genuine Labourites” are a monolithic mass that just doesn’t shift away from voting Labour no matter how bad the situation gets.

If a “genuine Labourite” is somebody who voted for this specimen just because he happens to be the Labour leader, you can flush him.
