We are supposed to believe that a flamboyant multi-millionaire lives here

So, a reader has very kindly sent in a photograph of Heliopolis Court in St Paul’s Bay – Xemxija end – after driving past (giving new meaning to the term “drive-by shooting”). Flamboyant multi-millionaire Lalit Modi, who is wanted in his home country, India, on money-laundering charges, is supposed to be registered at this address in Malta.

Last Tuesday, the government of India moved for his extradition from the United Kingdom, as his official address is in London, where he has lived for several years, confined there after the Indian authorities withdrew his passport in 2010.

That’s right, we are supposed to believe that Flat 1, Heliopolis Court is the place of choice for an ultra-rich crook to stay when he comes to Malta. And that is exactly why it is so suspicious and looks to be nothing more than a false “address on paper” of the sort revealed in recent visa scandals.
