Bigging up your CV

You know how they tell you to big up your CV, and how this is a whole specialised field? In his CV, presented to the European Court of Auditors, Toni Abela wrote that he has experience in managing public funds because he was vice mayor of “a large regional town in Malta”.

One of those who questioned him earlier this afternoon read that out and said, “I then discovered that this large regional town has a population of just 10,000 people or so, which means that it is actually a village. So how does your experience as vice mayor of a village prepare you for a place at the European Court of Auditors?”

I wept with laughter. And then got really angry at those shameless bastards in government.
