Brian Tonna’s lips are sealed
Newsbook (same stable as RTK) spoke to Brian Tonna at Nexia BT. They asked him for information about bank accounts Konrad Mizzi (and Keith Schembri; let’s not forget Keith Schembri) tried to set up in shady jurisdictions.
Tonna declined to speak, citing client confidentiality. He’s right, of course – revealing secrets and private information that you know by dint of your office work or profession is a crime punishable with a frightening fine and/or a prison sentence. But here’s the thing: you can get authorisation from your clients – in this case, Konrad Mizzi and Keith Schembri – to speak, and then that’s fine.
So if Brian Tonna isn’t speaking to the press, it’s because Konrad Mizzi and Keith Schembri have not given him permission to do so (and probably also because he doesn’t want to do so himself, because he advises against it).
