Dressed like a 1930s ventriloquist’s dummy, which is never a good idea at the best of times when you are roughly the same size, the increasingly bloated executive chairman of the Malta Council for Science and Technology was obliged to put in a rare appearance at the office today, to meet the US ambassador.
He will now probably feel justified in staying away for a week to pull teeth, botox ageing men and women, play squash, drink Earl Grey and wrap presents with the council project manager who shares his bed (or more likely, doesn’t).
