Former ‘Pulizija Laburist’ John Charles Ellul touted as first Police CEO
I have it on reasonably good authority that the newly created post of chief executive officer in the police force – which is designed to further undermine the authority of the Commissioner of Police – is to go to John Charles Ellul.
He is a brother to Labour Party apparatchik and former ‘Pulizija Laburist’ (now a criminal lawyer) Andy Ellul, and to failed Labour Party European Parliament candidate Sharon Ellul Bonici.
Andy Ellul and his girlfriend, former Super One reporter Claudia Cuschieri, are both on the payroll at the Ministry for the Family, in ‘positions of trust’ to which they have been appointed by their friend Minister Michael Farrugia, part of his social clique they form.
John Ellul was the quintessential ‘pulizija Laburist’, who retired as an inspector in the Forensic Branch and was immediately given an appointment as a full-time assistant lecturer in the Department of Criminology at the University of Malta.
He is on the right in the photograph below, which was taken at the Labour Party’s mass meeting to celebrate electoral victory in March 2013. His brother Andy is at the centre, and Andy’s best friend and law partner Vince Micallef, another former ‘pulizija Laburist’ turned lawyer, is on the left. Vince Micallef was appointed to the board of the Malta Council for Science and Technology through the good offices of the executive chairman, Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, another member of this very unsavoury social clique, whose binding factors are malice, unprincipled and self-serving opportunism, Labour ħdura and using Joseph Muscat to get what they want for themselves.
