The Maltese students who made it through the window were the lucky ones
You do realise that this means Maltese students will no longer be able to study at British universities and colleges at the preferential fees charged to EU citizens? Nor will students from other EU countries, but Maltese students look naturally to British universities for a variety of historic reasons and the most obvious one, language.
We are going to revert back to the times when, unless you had 30,000 euros a year to throw around on tuition fees alone (leave aside the living expenses and rent), you could forget a British university education.
The Maltese students who got their education between 2004 and whenever it is that Britain leaves will have been the fortunate ones.
I’m still watching the BBC and now there’s another journalist with a very long face and downturned mouth outside Downing Street. It’s a strange scenario.
