He’s back on radio, rambling like a tipsy bore at the dinner-table

I’ve come to the conclusion that the reason Nigel Farage hits the spot with what are clearly delineated parts of the electorate is because he rambles exactly as they do, leaping from one incoherent thought to another, and because they see themselves reflected in his speech-and-thought patterns, they think he’s making sense.

He hasn’t watched any of the footage of what happened in Nice, but that hasn’t stopped him commenting on it. That’s another thing people will relate to: forming opinions without due regard to the facts.
