The Prime Minister continues to lie about Konrad Mizzi and his audit
The Prime Minister was stopped by a small crowd of journalists today outside one of his diary-events, and asked about the audit into his henchman Konrad Mizzi’s illicit financial affairs, which the PM claimed way back in March, after the Panama Papers crisis broke, that he would order.
Since then we have heard nothing, and Muscat is unable even to give us the name of the “international company” which he said would conduct the audit, quite simply because there isn’t one.
This morning he repeated the same mantra of lies to journalists, saying “these things take time” and “auditors have to be sure that there is no money” and even “I have to be sure that everything is correct before I sign it off”.
It goes without saying that the vertical furrow between his brows was deep. The bald lies are beyond belief. In a democracy, a head of government who lies to the public is a major scandal. And that would be just the one lie, not routine lying.
Why are we tolerating this, and merely counting the days until we can vote against these crooks? Democracy is not a vote in an election every five years.
