Thanks to Joseph Muscat’s interview efforts, he and Malta are being torn to shreds by Express readers

The Daily Express, a British national newspaper known to many Maltese readers, has been frothing at the mouth about the things the Maltese Prime Minister said about Brexit negotiations in an interview with Politico a couple of days ago.

The Express says today:

The Prime Minister of Malta said the UK would face a fate similar to Greece, who were economically punished by the European Union following its financial crash.

Joseph Muscat mocked Mrs May’s insistence that exit negotiations would take place on her terms, and warned the government to prepare for a rough ride.

Speaking to Politico, the Maltese PM said: “Expect the format to be more or less like what happened with Greece. “Any deal has to be a fair deal, but an inferior deal. Even the most pro-UK countries — Netherlands, Estonia, Ireland — say you cannot have your cake and eat it.”

He said: “They want to look at single market, at sovereignty, at freedom of movement, at transposition of EU laws.

“The feeling I get is that is unacceptable to most member states. They want the single market and freedom of movement to be tackled together.”

He said Mrs May wanted to negotiate the terms of the UK’s divorce from the 28-country club by “chapters” – something he described as “unacceptable”.

Malta, the Maltese Prime Minister and the Maltese are now, thanks to the middle-listed, being shredded by angry Brits on the comments-board. Some choice examples:

Malta? The local government can’t even control the time share sharks who spoil holidays left right and centre.

The Maltese are great people and great allies of our nation. But a leftist like Muscat owes his allegence to himself, socialism and internationalism. He used to oppose Malta joining the EU, then he became an MEP and got his nose in the trough. Now he supports the EU and he clearly couldn’t care less about what’s good for the people.

Malta – the centre of the known universe.

Malta is a country?…

How much does Malta take TAKE out of the EU?

Oh dear, we must all be quaking in our boots at this threat. Pathetic little man.

Not a man. Just an eu robot scared for his pension.

This is one of the problems with the EU. A small country like Malta has the same vote as Germany, UK, France etc. That form of democracy can’t be the correct formula for a strong unit.

I thought the Maltese people liked us ,he obviously doesn’t.

Why would we listen to Malta the country thats about the size of Oldham ????

Another silly little man from a silly little country making threats because some of his piggy bank will go, the EU is waving a big stick because it is more worried about a major net contributer leaving and the effect on it’s trade with the UK, Malta receives substantially more from the EU that it pays in.

The Prime Minister of Malta said the UK would face a fate similar to Greece, who were economically punished by the European Union.
Malta…LOL

I wonder if the Greek people were informed they were ‘punished’ by the EU as now revealed, by the Maltese prime minister, no less?

The Malteser is unwilling to admit that most member states want the single market and freedom of movement because those who come to the UK get their child allowances paid by the UK treasury but use the cash in their own countries to boost their economies. These is NO economic sense in that which us why the UK will quit the EU without freedom of movement, and Malta will probably loses a few tourists from the UK….

I was reviewing the big news stories from around the world earlier. North Korea tensions, the latest ISIS events, India /Pakistan tensions, China South Sea activities that kind of thing, and the thought then struck me, I wonder what Malta’s position is on all those things….?

Every little jumped up country is now giving it’s opinion of the UK Brexit… F*** OFF Joseph Muscat, the UK has been the only country to have the guts to say NO to the EU… I am so proud to be British…

Stuff Malta! let them stew in their own juvenile ideas .I am livid that my family relatives gave their lives to enable ‘Wet behind the ears’ ****head current leaders to decry their sacrifices.!

What does Malta contribute to the eu coffers ? A pittance. They are net receivers of eu funds. But we have this Malteser punching way above his weight, by threatening us. A bit pathetic really !

Any UK aid to this tiny country & friend of Putin, needs reviewing this day.

The Prime Minister of Diddlysquatistan seems to be forgetting that Greece has remained in the EU and is therefore not really a relevant example of what happens when you leave.

Joseph Muscat, Born 1974 sill twenty five years from any idea how the British gave lives to allow him to spout his ‘wisdom’ now!

Is he a lost cousin of Kim Kardashian i wonder???? a nomark looking for attention!

The juvenile leaders like this one have no knowledge of the lives given in WWII to enable them to ‘backstab’ those who gave them the freedom so to do! May they rot!

Eff you Malta, you pipsqueak. I’ve just cancelled my plans to holiday there.

Me too, we were about to book a long stay in Malta over the winter – now we know how they feel, we, and our money, will go elsewhere.

Malta ha ha ha

Says the peep squeek of a cow tow island, hilarious

This little tin pot leader is forgetting Britain’s strength and we are in the driving seat we could put large tariff’s on Germany and France if they want to play hardball.

Malta. Economic giant, defender of the western world, saviour of Europe in two world wars, telling the UK what to do? Don’t hold your breath, Mr Muscat. (We had a Muscat playing for Wolves a few years ago. He was useless too.)

Its a bit unrealistic to think that a country the size of Malta would threaten the UK. Malta is smaller than the Isle of Wight for heavens sake and relies much upon the tourist industry, including significantly tourists from the UK.

Please, also do not forget that many Maltese during the War supported Italy even though it was the Allies that protected and supplied them at great cost to us. Think, Faith, Hope and Charity. If you do not know what I am talking about, look it up.

How is it Muscat/Malta has permission to run a definite TAX haven in Malta, whilst enjoying all the ‘benefits’ of being am member of the success story EU?

His threats are ludicrous. Especially so as Malta sells EU Passports to outsiders. Hardly a staunch supporter are they?

Malta now would that be the country who decided they didn’t want Britain to have a military base there any more (against the wishes of its own people) because they said we weren’t paying them enough. The country who invited Russian to have a military base there and are still waiting for Russia to pay for the privilege. That Malta? Do we trust the Maltase government? No.

To stop ranting misfits like this Maltese idiot Muscat,we need article 50 invoked now.

Some little jumped up man in charge of a small country like Malta. Keep up the rhetoric. When our funds stop keeping you all afloat, we will see who will have the last laugh. You cannot make it up. Who next to slag off the UK, any more poor countries in line?

Malta, hahahahahahaha

Exactly. What a dump.

An island no bigger than a Malteser… . Malta…tiny little island…remember those aeroplanes Faith, Hope and Charity? Remember the George Cross? Remember who saved your island from German invasion…

This is unbelievable, who are these silly b*stards, what gives them the right to openly slag of the country which is still paying them millions a week, who are they to dictate to us, what a nasty vindictive EU you are, PATHETIC!

Population of Malta 444,000. same as Bristol Wa****r get back in your hole

I think its time Malta’s special relationship with UK ended. No more entitlement to vote in our elections and same for Eire – clean break in age old generosity which allows Eire and Malta free immigration to UK and in effect free use of NHS.

Threatened by the prime minister of malta. Haha like being threatened by a limbless blind dwarf.

Ah yes Malta. The smallest country in the EU it is less than 125 square miles in total area or 10 wide by 13 miles long. It is smaller than the Isle of Wight and a population the same as Coventry.
Now remind me, why would anyone pay any attention to what the Prime Minister of such an insignificant little area as that? Does he think he is the president of Luxembourg or some where big like that…??

Maltesers? They melt in your hand, don’t they? Brexiters are made of sterner stuff, mate. Any more talk like this and we’ll take back the George Cross. Now go away and run your little rip-off holiday spot.

I hate the Maltese people. I was there when Dom Mintoff was threatening us by putting up the rent for our naval base and the brits were threatening to leave. He was all for letting the Russians in. I got caught up in the anti British riots. The hatred for the Brits shone through then and this shows it still does.We should start by stopping holidays to his little island. They would then have to rely solely on the fact that they are just another NON NET contributor to the EU.

Malta contributes the LEAST amount of money to the EU, in terms of GDP, of all 28 nations. 0.06% compared to the UK’s 12.7%. 1/211th by comparison. In absolute terms they contribute €591,027,142, that is 1/16 of the UK’s contribution, and they get slightly more than that back. The last thing Malta wants is an EU breakup. They are more than happy to be passengers riding on the back of the top 5 nations.

Malta’s prime minister makes this statement while Greek pensioners are being tear-gassed by their own police. Bad taste, but not as bad as Malta selling EU passports.- time to change our relationship I think.

What exciting contributions has Malta made to the EU apart from selling passports to W.O.G.s to enable hem to access the EU.

They elect the filth, they also elected the British hating Mintoff in the 1970s they preferred the Libyans, then for the hand outs they got. Now they are shxting them selves that another set of hand outs will be lost.

Who elected Muscat then, the same people who elected Mintoff and were in the 1970s pro Libyan the Maltese follow the money trail. They can pxss off with the rest.

Malta ….who ?? As someone who has lived and worked there I can safely say that the Maltezers couldn’t organise a “knee trembler” in a brothel.

I hope everyone will stop going to Malta for their holidays. Hit them where it hurts… in their bank balance.

What an obnoxious little Muskrat. It’s no good having a cake unless you do eat it. Britain’s leaders will be quaking with fear at the prospect of facing him. Or, more likely, laughing their socks off.

Be careful, Mr Muscat. I have printed 6 books in Malta, and a first class job they did, lovely people, good job. Exports for you, tax take for your government. Carry on with your talk and I will take my business elsewhere, hopefully the UK…

If this man’s correct and we’ll be reduced to the level of the Greeks, one thing really IS certain, we won’t be going to Malta for our holidays.

LISTEN YOU FAT LITTLE PIG YOU WOULDNT EVEN BE WHERE YOU ARE IF IT HADN’T BEEN FOR THE BRITISH

Malta. Isn’t that a sandcastle somewhere in the med? It has a PM? Does he hold the little sandcastle flags wooden stick?

Who is Joseph Muscat? An insignificant little worm. He has far less power and influence in the EU than he thinks he has. Everyday, we hear from another scared little EU parasite. Say goodbye to UK money Muscat. That gravy train is reaching its terminus.

Vindictive – didn’t think the Maltese were like that. Maybe it’s just him.

These tin pot EU recipient countries have some balls coming out with threats to the UK.

In view of their attitude I think we should take back the medal we gave to Malta.

It was a different people who earned that medal. You can’t blame them for the idiocy of a single, jumped up political nobody.

Another non-entity mouthing off a pile of rubbish. You have to laugh at these clowns, they come out of the woodwork, talk crap and disappear.

Who the heck is he? Never heard of him.

The reason the Maltese are worried is that they have been selling EU passports via their “Citizenship by Investment” program. Of course an EU passport without access to the UK is far less attractive as most of the Russian buyers aren’t interested in remaining on Malta.

The Malteser is completely out of the loop. He is basing his reckonings on how a small third-date economy which had overspent to the n’th degree and could not get the most elementary fiscal or other matters under control.

Don’t think this Maltese guy understands economics and the reason why greece was able to be kicked so hard.

Malta. A world leader in nothing at all. It’s had more rulers than a Manchester comprehensive school. I don’t think we need a penny lecture from a serial loser.

Malta, a pipsqueak country of approx 20 by 14 miles encompassing all that is wrong in southern Europe. I know, I spent several years there.

This is an example of a little politician enjoying his moment of glory in the sun. This man leads a country with a population of just under 420,000 people and as such would normally be ignored by almost everyone. Britain is in a much more powerful position financially than Greece ever was, since we have not been spending other people’s money carelessly for years. Let Mr Muscat huff and puff all he likes, he is of little or no importance.
