Konrad Mizzi/Keith Schembri sidekick threatens whistleblower “You will never see your children again”

The Opposition newspaper, Il-Mument, carried a story on its front page that should have been on the front pages of The Malta Independent, The Sunday Times and Malta Today.

It featured a dreadful text message which Neville Gafa, a sidekick of the Prime Minister’s chief of staff, Keith Schembri, and the Minister Within the Office of the Prime Minister, Konrad Mizzi, sent to the Libyan whistleblower in the ‘medical visas’ scandal.

Gafa threatens him by saying that if he releases any further information about the matter or the people involved, “you will never see your children again”.

The man in question had blown the whistle on Gafa’s corrupt taking of payments against promises to issue visas to Libyan people for hospital treatment in Malta. Gafa, who used to work as a clerk at a Valletta optician’s, was recruited by the Prime Minister’s Office in March 2013, when Muscat won the general election, and when Konrad Mizzi was made Health Minister, he moved with him to the Ministry of Health.
