Owen Bonnici spent €13,430 of taxpayers’ money on two first-class return flights to China

Owen Bonnici, the Justice Minister, spent €13,430 on two first-class return tickets to China for himself and for his “private secretary”, in March last year.
Bonnici and his private secretary, who is unnamed in the item listed among direct orders published in the Government Gazette, spent just over a day in China. They flew from Malta on 22 March and flew back on 25 March. The purpose of their visit was given as “to attend a forum”.
