The Minister for the Economy: busting a gut for Malta at Ghajn Tuffieha with a lady friend
If you were wondering where Christian Cardona, Minister for the Economy, was today in his strenuous efforts to Make Malta Great in office hours, I can tell you.
He was taking it easy with a lady friend from the former European Communist bloc at the Apple’s Eye restaurant in Ghajn Tuffieha, eating a leisurely lunch overlooking the calm, blue sea, and drinking. He was there already before 1pm.
Too bad I wasn’t looking at my phone, because by the time I saw my friend’s message and whipped down there a couple of hours later – I live just five minutes away – they had left already, probably for a spot of post-prandial nookie or more drinks at another bar while the valiantly loyal Dana Farrugia/Bonnici, his private secretary, holds the fort. “Sorry, il-Ministru impenjat bħalissa. Daqxejn tied up.”
